i have the most insane sweet tooth in all of the sweet teeth there ever were.

it's a problem.

the sugar...it speaks to me.

my only saving grace is that i don't like candy. candy like - skittles or i can't even think of any other type of candy.

candy = guh.

however...chocolate. or anything savory for that matter = yuuuuum. yum.

cake? yes. donuts? yes. nutella from the jar? sometimes.

well...the weather here last week was total balls. so windy. about 45ยบ. not fun. we were trapped in the house.

kaye requested we make something delicious and who am i to crush sweet requests.

you don't have to ask me twice to get the sugar out.

kaye and i started browsing through my pinterest boards and finally landed on these delicious bars. the very best part? they can somewhat pass as a healthy treat.

i made a few modifications to the recipe which make them slightly healthier...but just as delicious, i'm sure!

enjoy!

I N S T R U C T I O N S

1 cup almond butter (unsweetened, smooth or chunky)
1/2 cup honey
1/3 cup coconut oil - you can probably do less because of the oil and fat in the almond butter
2 1/2 cups oats
1 cup shredded coconut
1 1/4 cups chocolate chips
1 tsp. vanilla

+ heat almond butter // honey // coconut oil on medium heat in a saucepan. stir frequently...it doesn't take long!

+ once melted add in the oats // shredded coconut // chocolate chips and vanilla.

+ grease a 9 x 13 pan. pour mixture into pan evenly.

+ refrigerate!

+ cut bars into squares and store in refrigerator or freezer.

see you back here tomorrow for oh hey, friday!
