so, uh...so much for a super awesome 33'rd birthday.

or if awesome equals having a swollen t-rex arm that just kind of hangs there...then...well, i'm pretty awesome.

and to make things worse, my farmer's birthday was a few days ago. he didn't even get any birthday lovin'. poor guy.

but you know what he did get? a cake from whole foods (because i wasn't about to attempt to bake a cake one handed) and i hung a birthday banner. i REALLY wanted to blow up balloons...but that is yet another task that can't be accomplished with one hand.

oh! in case you missed it - read all about how i broke my elbow last saturday.

but before you do that...

3 | big farm accident
you guys - yesterday as my farmer was driving back with the girls from mccall i received a phone call from one of our employees. all i heard was, "you need to come here. i'm by the rodeo grounds."

i was like...yeah. okay.

admittedly, i'm never one to blow things up until i have time to assess for myself. i always assume things aren't as bad as what someone is making them out to be. i'm not sure what that's called, but in this case, i was dead wrong.

as i was approaching the scene a firetruck slowed me down and told me to "be careful. there's an accident up ahead." i drove around the curve, and there it was.
our tractor and baler were kind of pulled off to the side and then a truck facing the wrong was was completely smashed in. i parked, jumped out and got all the details.
long story short - we were all surprised the driver of the truck walked away with no injuries. also...our employee was completely fine. just super shook up...as he should have been. he thought he killed the guy. and lastly - it was the truck driver's fault. we're not sure if he fell asleep or has a medical condition or what...but he was in the oncoming lane going about 50 mph. our employee tried to steer out of his way...but tractors don't exactly turn on a dime. he slammed into our baler and spun. the road was blocked up for a good 20 minutes...but it's a situation like that that makes you appreciate living in a super small town. i knew both the sheriff and the paramedic - which was super reassuring.
4 | my gals are home
there is nothing sweeter than a reunion. yesterday, after the accident situation, my farmer brought my two best gals back to me. i was greeted with squeals and hugs and "mama!" and kisses and...it was glorious.

later on...i couldn't make dinner and i couldn't change sawyer's disgusting diaper. and while i did offer all the verbal support, it was kind of nice. don't tell my farmer. here's to four weeks of no diaper duty!

in my defense - i totally did the dishes.

5 | happy weekend!
